Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is a national organization with local priorities committed to helping neighbors build communities. We work with local nonprofit community development organizations to help transform distressed urban neighborhoods into healthy communities that are great places to live, work, do business, and raise families. LISC Indianapolis mobilizes corporate and philanthropic support on behalf of local neighborhoods, providing them with loans, grants and equity investments, policy support, and the technical and management assistance they need to realize their goals. See our recent accomplishments here — and see what’s working in our neighborhoods right now.
Community economic development is any local action that creates economic opportunities and improves social conditions, particularly for those who are most disadvantaged. The Indiana Association for Community Economic Development (IACED) supports a network of organizations that builds vital communities and resilient families. We advocate for public policies and assist the network in developing comprehensive solutions that engage local leadership to generate private and public investment. IACED supports its network with one-on-one capacity building, training, advocacy, and relationship building.
IACED’s nearly 300 members strengthen communities and improve lives in rural, suburban, and urban areas across Indiana. IACED members provide housing opportunity. They meet basic needs. They connect Hoosiers to jobs. They create vital public spaces. They do all of this and more. If this describes your work, you should be a member of IACED.
